Shenanigans and Updates

Hello, all! I’ve been deep in my writing cave for the last few weeks finishing up the final book in the North Pole City Tales series, plus working on edits, writing, and several other things. I figured it was time for an update. At the moment I’m working on the last book in the main THIRDS series, book 10, which I’m super excited about. We’re sending these fellas off into their new series with a bang! Plus I’m super excited about an awesome event we’re cooking up for this book, so stay tuned for that.

Gummy Bears & Grenades (Dex’s bachelor party novella) has been contracted by Dreamspinner Press, and it’s just entered the editing stage. It’s due for release in October in eBook, and that’s when we plan to release the Thick & Thin | Gummy Bears & Grenades paperback combo, for all the folks who were waiting for Thick & Thin on paperback.

Like I said, Gummy Bears & Grenades is the bachelor party. It takes place between books 9 and 10. There’s some interesting developments, but you do not need to read it in order to understand book 10. It’s a fun little side story filled with shenanigans, romance, sexy-times, and a few new revealing truths. Also there’s a giant bear costume and grenades involved.

The final book in the North Pole City Tales series, book 6, has been contracted by Dreamspinner Press. This is Dasher and the King of Frost. There’s also a plan to release a paperback combo. More on that soon.

As some of you may know, I’ll be attending GRL this year. I’m super excited to be seeing everyone again. More on my GRL plans soon.

Here’s the tentative release schedule (subject to change). This is providing everything goes according to schedule and I can get the final THIRDS book completed by its deadline.

Aug – The Foxling Soldati (Soldati Hearts, Book 2)
Sept – Finding Mr. Wrong (Dreamspun Desires)
Oct – Gummy Bears & Grenades (Thick & Thin | Gummy Bears & Grenades paperback)
Nov – THIRDS Book 10
Dec – North Pole City Tales Book 6

I think that’sit for now, but with all these upcoming releases there will be all kinds of fun events happening, so be sure to check back to find out what shenanigans we have in store!

What’s coming up next?

weeklynewsupdateHello all! This month has been pretty crazy what with my current WIP and The Impetuous Afflictions Blog Tour. The tour is still going on until the 1st of Dec for anyone who’d like to catch up with the excerpts or wants to enter the contest. Here’s a little rundown of what’s happening at the moment and what’s coming up.

The Impetuous Afflictions of Jonathan Wolfe has gotten some amazing reviews! I just want to thank all the lovely readers and reviewers who’ve taken the time to read Johnnie’s story and leave such wonderful comments. It really makes me so happy hearing you’ve enjoyed it. Thank you to all the new readers who’ve picked up The Auspicious Troubles of Chance. You can bet Chance is basking in the attention. And finally, thank you to everyone who followed the tour. You’ve all been so great!

– I have a tentative release date for The Heart of Frost: Dec 18th. I’m not making an official announcement yet in case the date changes, though I don’t expect it to. I reckon it’ll hit Dreamspinner’s “Coming Soon” page any day now, so it’ll be confirmed. I just saw the final artwork for the cover and oh my god! Paul Richmond did the most AMAZING job. I was squeeing like a crazy person when it hit my inbox. Jack and Rudy are on the cover and… oh, I’m just so happy with it! Don’t worry, I’ll share soon as I can. There will also be a blog tour, and on Dec 14th a Facebook chat, but I’ll let you all know the details of both closer to the time.

– I’m currently finishing up the first book of a four book series. This is a new venture for me with it being a contemporary shifter series. Unlike An Intrepid Trip to Love which is contemporary/fantasy, this new series is set in NYC, modern time, and revolves around a special law enforcement team, their adventures, and of course, the romance centering around two of the team’s very different agents.

I’m really excited about it, but I’m waiting until I’ve got the first one contracted before squeeing all over everyone and sharing more with you. The schedule for this series is pretty tight, though the first book more than the others. But my hope is to get them released within a month or so of each other in 2014 so readers don’t have to wait a year between releases, so yep, a lot of work going on. I’m hoping the first three books will be available in eBook and paperback by the time next GRL rolls around. I’ve also got at least three spin-offs in mind as well. So this series is pretty much consuming my life between now and June of next year writing-wise, though I hope to get a few shorter stories out in between. I really hope you’ll love these fellas as much as I’m loving them!

– I’m hoping to get a newsletter started in the new year Jan/Feb. It’ll be once a month and feature all kinds of fun stuff, including exclusive scene extras, flash-fiction, giveaways, and more, so stay tuned for that!

Also Dreamspinner is having a most awesome sale until Saturday! So if you’re looking to pick up some Christmas stories and you like the sound of sweet Christmas elves foiling some dastardly deviants and falling in love, Mending Noel is 30% off!

Post GRL2013 and What Comes Next?

GRL2013PBHello all! Sadly, GayRomLit 2013 has come and gone already. Since I went as a general attendee, I got to relax a little and didn’t have to worry about swag or panels, though next year I’m really hoping to register as an author. I had so much fun. The writers’ workshop was fantastic, not just because of the classes, but because it allowed you the opportunity to spend some time with your fellow authors before the big event.

I had such a great time seeing folks I’d met the previous year, plus I got to meet loads of new folks this year, many of whom I’d chatted with online but hadn’t met in person yet. The themed events were awesome, and the photo booth was a genius idea. I didn’t take pictures because I know myself. I get swept up in the people and events and just forget, but there are LOADS of pictures on Facebook, so if you go to my Facebook page you’ll see me tagged in lots of them. I dressed up as a flapper for the masquerade (I couldn’t resist).

I would list all the highlights but that would make this post silly long. I could gush about GRL for ages. Again, see Facebook. So what’s next? Well, GRL is obviously a great place to be to get motivated and inspired. I had several folks give me a good kick up the backside–figuratively of course, while I was there about my writing. My WIP list is massive, but I realized unless I got myself organized and scheduled, it would remain a WIP list and not a New Release list–which I’d been struggling with the last few months. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to have out next year, and what I would like to have available for GRL if I was lucky enough to get an author slot. Those of you thinking Hunter’s book, he will be worked into the schedule somehow.

Next year, I’d like to see the release of a four book shifter series I’ve been working on for a while now. I’ve been really excited about this series because it’s a little different from what’s out there (at least I think so) and I’m hoping you’ll all  love these guys as much as I do. They also happen to be pretty damn hot. Did I mention they’re in law enforcement? Yep, I’m pretty darn excited. About the story. *ahem*

I’ve worked out a schedule so you won’t have to wait a year between books. In fact, if life permits, they will hopefully be released within a month or so of each other. Eventually there will be spin-offs with two other pairings, but for now we have the two MC’s across four books. There are lots of exciting ideas in the works for this series because I want to go big with it. Of course, this means that my blogging will likely fall back to about once a week. The schedule is pretty tight–especially for the first book, and as I’ll be pretty much concentrating on this series for the next year, it means slower releases for my other WIP titles. We’ll see what I can fit in where. Busy doesn’t begin to describe it. But, deadlines are good for me. It means I get the books done. There will be more info on these fellas soon, so stay tuned!

I’ll also be posting dates and stops for The Impetuous Afflictions Blog Tour next week! Lots of chances to win goodies coming soon!
