Hello all! I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be attending the Coastal Magic Convention on Saturday Feb 7th and Sunday Feb 8th. Although I won’t be taking part in any panels (though I can’t wait to attend them), I will be selling and signing books. There will be THIRDS paperbacks for sale, but a limited quantity.
The signing is free and open to the public, so if you live in the area or close by and would like to get your THIRDS books signed, drop on by on Saturday Feb 7th. The limit of books brought from home for signing is 5. Check out the list of fab authors here.
Mostly, I’m looking forward to chatting with folks and checking out all the fun panels and events! Hope to see you there!
Hello all! Tonight at 7 pm Easter time (6 pm Central Time) I’ll be over at the Rainbow Gold Reviews chat room with some other fab authors for one hour. Drop by and join the fun, ask questions, or just chat! It’s especially easy to sign in if you have a Twitter account.

Although it’s the end of the tour, it’s by no means the end of the fun. Here’s what’s still to come:
11th of July – Blood & Thunder Cover Reveal and Giveaway!
Hello all! Yesterday afternoon I returned from RainbowCon up in Tampa. I had such a great time! Not only did I get to hang with my fabulous partner in crime Michael Rupured, but I got to spend time with old friends and met new ones who I’d chatted to online. I’d list everyone but that would make this post insanely long! I also won some amazing books from the awesome Rhys Ford during the Series & Serials panel which I’m still fangirling over.
I attended some great events and had a blast taking part in my first panels. I was nervous at first, but once I was there with fellow authors and moderators, the nerves fell away and I was so excited to chat. I do wish the Q&A had been at least an hour long because it was so much fun. Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by my panels and the Q&A. I don’t feel as nervous about my upcoming GRL panels now.
I don’t have pictures because I’m notorious for forgetting to take them. I really need to change that. But there are plenty of pictures on Facebook and I’ve been tagged in quite a few. I do feel like I should start carrying around a little stepping stool because I’m always the shortest. Poor Michael ends up trying to make himself less tall. LOL We had some fabulous dinners. Japanese is one of my absolute favorites. My roomies Lexi Ander and Tandice were uber sweet. The whole experience was just fantastic. I miss everyone already!
Yesterday I unpacked and then packed again for the Dreamspinner Press Author’s Workshop which starts Thursday in Portland. So I’ll be flying out for that. I’ve loads to do before then. It’s getting closer to THAT time!!! I’m on the final (hopefully) round of edits for Hell & High Water. Blood & Thunder edits should be coming through any day now, Rack & Ruin is with my publisher, and I’ll be working on Rise & Fall. Nervous does not begin to cover it. The Hell & High Water blog tour is in the works. There will be smaller tours in between and a bigger tour in December again for Rise & Fall. I’ll make sure to keep you all posted on how the series is progressing.
Tomorrow, Tuesday April 22nd is my guest post at Coffee and Porn in the Morning and I’ll be chatting about dreams and inspiration. I believe it goes up sometime around 10 a.m.
Hello all! As part of Rainbow Gold Reviews blog debut, on Monday, March 31st at 3 pm EST (2 pm CDT) I’ll be taking part in a 1 hour Facebook Chat with the fab Josh Lanyon and Rain Carrington. You can drop by and say hello or ask any or all of us questions! If you’d like to join the event, just follow this link:
Hello all! The last few days I’ve been recuperating after (finally!) turning in Blood & Thunder, THIRDS Book 2 in to my publisher over the weekend (plus finishing a whole bunch of other things, -_-). I’m now working on Book 3, and trying to figure out what kind of covers I want for the series [cue ominous music]. Sometimes I know exactly what I want for a cover, and then other times I want to curl up, and weep.
There are so many options to consider before you even get to the content. Like drawn or photo? People or graphics? What kind of style? Then trying to figure out what I actually want on the cover. I’ve been going back and forth for days. Dreamspinner has an awesome art department with equally awesome artists, so that’s not the problem. I’ve just kept drawing a blank. NOW I think I’ve got it. I think my problem was establishing a tone for the covers, because although it’s a romance series, there’s an equal balance of comedy and drama, and I want that to be reflected on the covers. I want the covers to stand out, so I think I may be taking a chance on the road less traveled with these, but hopefully it’ll work.
I’m working on Rack & Ruin, THIRDS Book 3, plus working on production for Book 1. I think with each book I complete, the more nervous I get. I’ve never finished writing a whole series before the first book even gets close to release. I’m also working on the website, and hope to get that up before June.
Now for other news, Some of you may or may not know I did a guest post on Guy Like Romance, Too! where I shared links to Love in Bloom – A Chance & Jacky Valentine’s Day Special. If you missed it, you can still read or download the story from my Free Reads page. http://www.charliecochet.com/free-reads/
As part of my newsletter, I’m including exclusive content for readers, and February’s newsletter included The Perfect Valentine’s Day – A Little Bit of Love Valentine’s Day Special, featuring Trip & Boone. If you fancy signing up to my newsletter, you can do so here: http://www.charliecochet.com/newsletter If you signed up too late to get the Feb newsletter, just let me know you signed up, and would like Feb’s newsletter (drop me an email or fill out the contact form) and I’ll forward you a copy.
Don’t forget, this weekend is my live chat with the fantabulous Amy Lane, and Rhys Ford. We’ll be answering reader questions live on Google Hangouts. So drop by at 5 pm (Eastern Time), this Sat Feb 22nd to see if we answered your questions. I’ll be posting the direct link as soon as I get it.
Also, the rights to quite a few of my stories are reverting to me for my Torquere Press books, so they start becoming unavailable from the end of this month. When Love Walked In will become unavailable from around the 27th of Feb, and The Amethyst Cat Caper will become unavailable around the same time. I’m hoping to revisit all my short stories, though I haven’t decided whether to make them longer, and re-release them, or put them together in an anthology. The Amethyst Cat Caper I intend to re-edit, and turn it into a full length novel, but obviously it won’t be re-released until next year.
What do you think? Should I re-edit, extend them to novellas. Or re-edit, and put them together in a short story anthology with a new short story or two?
